Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 8, 2026
This policy explains what asanaSoft, LLC ("asanaSoft," "we," "us") collects when you use asanasoft.com and the asanaDB Products, and what we do — and don't do — with it. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to issue and enforce a license, we don't run analytics or trackers on this site, we never see your database contents, and we never see your payment card details.
1. What We Collect
This website
We do not run analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party tracking cookies on asanasoft.com. Our hosting infrastructure may keep standard server access logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention, retained briefly and not used to build a profile of you.
License registration
When you request a license (self-service Community, or Developer/Pro), we collect the name, email address, and operating system you provide. We use this to issue your license, contact you about it, and for support.
License activation
The first time you run a licensed Product, it contacts our licensing server once to bind your license to that machine — this records a machine-generated instance identifier against your license ID and a timestamp. This binding is what prevents a single license from running on unlimited machines. After activation, license validity is checked entirely locally, on your machine — the Software does not phone home on an ongoing basis, does not track your usage, and does not know what you're doing with it.
Payment information
Paid licenses are billed through Paddle.com Market Limited, our merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment details directly — asanaSoft never receives, transmits, or stores your card number or other payment credentials. See Paddle's Privacy Policy for how they handle it.
Your database contents
asanaDB runs entirely on infrastructure you control.
We have no access to, and never transmit, the data
you store in it. If you use the optional
--central
federation feature to connect multiple instances of your
own, that traffic goes directly between your instances
over mTLS — it never passes through asanaSoft's servers.
2. How We Use It
- To issue, activate, and enforce your license;
- To send license-related and transactional communications (not marketing, unless you opt in);
- To respond to support requests; and
- To detect and prevent license abuse and fraud.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Who We Share It With
Paddle, for payment processing, tax compliance, and subscription billing. Our infrastructure providers, to host the site and licensing server. We don't use any advertising, analytics, or data-broker third parties.
4. Data Retention
We keep license registration and activation records for as long as your license is active plus a reasonable period afterward, for support and fraud-prevention purposes. You can request deletion at any time — see below.
5. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing us (below). We'll honor reasonable requests, subject to what we need to retain for legitimate business or legal reasons (e.g. records of a completed transaction).
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
